About the Department

Modern automotive industries need experts in vehicle design and manufacture. With this in mind, the Department of Automobile Engineering began its functioning in 2014 to train the students in the area of automobile engineering. With the concerted efforts extended by the faculty, we ensure that our students get additional knowledge acquisition through trainings and internships. The department has a team of highly qualified, dedicated and experienced teachers. They specialize in IC Engines, Alternative, Fuels, Automotive Technology, Automotive Design, Production, Thermal & Electric Vehicles. Research activities are in progress in the areas of alternative fuels, Engine systems, vehicle dynamics and new trends in engine design. For this we have created Industry- Institution- linked labs, where added training is provided with the endorsement of the firm. Linkages improve the scope for job opportunities as well as updated knowledge to provide support in their future growth. The Department takes pride in moulding prospective engineers with knowledge and work efficiency and hopes to produce more in the coming years.

Career Opportunities Career options for a graduate in Automobile Engineering can be broadly classified into three sub segments:

  1. Higher studies in postgraduate level: Postgraduate programmes like M. Tech, ME, and MS in relevant fields are available to talented applicants who want to study more. Numerous institutions in India and beyond provide career-focused post-graduate degrees in the relevant field.
  2. Job:After finishing their coursework in the subject area of the primary course, students may choose to work in the following sectors:
  • Manufacturing firms: - In order to occupy management and supervisory positions in the production, assembly, logistics, shop floor, and research and development departments of a manufacturing unit, one must possess a professional degree.
  • Supplier: - The Indian industry's automotive and mechanical sectors are finding it difficult to satisfy consumer needs, and as a result, they anticipate growing at the supplier level to do so. The primary manufacturers' turnover has been surpassed by the suppliers connected to large manufacturing firms.
  • After sales service: - The student has the option of working in the production and supplier units' after-sales services to monitor and recommend solutions for issues found in customer-level feedback.

Over the years, our students have been recruited by many of the leading companies, including automotive manufacturers, automotive spare manufacturing vendors, IT firms, product manufacturing companies, etc., who have contributed towards the growth of the nation.

  1. As an entrepreneur: Every manufacturing facility wants its supplier to be close by so they can handle last-minute demands and plan alterations. Manufacturers support local small-scale businesses that can provide parts and subsystems in the necessary quantity and quality. Manufacturers themselves have recently started offering loans at reduced interest rates for these kinds of start-ups, which benefits both parties.
