About Parala Maharaja Engineering College (PMEC)

Parala Maharaja Engineering College (P.M.E.C), Berhampur came into existence in the year 2009 on April 26th, as a constituent Government Engineering College of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Odisha, India with an area of nearly 80 acres. Now this college acts as a Government Autonomous college affiliated to BPUT, Odisha from year 2021. This college is one of the premier technical institutes in the state and is funded by the Government of Odisha. It has 8 B.Tech programmes and 5 M.Tech programmes with 10 departments.

Also, now it has a Nodal Center of Research under BPUT to conduct Ph.D. programmes. The main objective of the institution is to produce quality technocrats in various streams.

Government of Odisha has recognized this institution as a leading institution of repute and has a plan to develop it as a centre of excellence under plan funding. At present, the campus consists of institutional academic block, workshop block, labs, hostels, playgrounds, bank, canteen, central library (under const.), etc. As the architectural plan suggests, three more academic blocks, halls of residence, staff quarters, world-class auditoria, parks, and playgrounds will be developed in subsequent phases of construction. The Silk City-Berhampur is located on the eastern coastline of Odisha. It is one of the oldest cities of the state famous for its silk works, temples, and culture. The city which is declared as a municipal corporation is well-connected by roads and rails to all parts of India.

The department attracts some of the brightest minds in the country, who achieve outstanding ranks in JEE-Main, widely considered one of the most competitive entrance examinations for higher education.

Our alumni have distinguished themselves in various fields, with accomplishments spanning leadership roles in top-tier companies, the design of ground-breaking products, and contributions to pioneering research. Their achievements, though too numerous to list in full, stand as a testament to the quality of education and training imparted by the department.

About the Conference

The Internet of things (IoT) is a system of interconnected computing devices, objects such as machine, animals or people that are provided with unique identifiers with the ability to transfer data over a network. Computing is being transformed to a model consisting of services that are commoditized and delivered in a manner similar to utilities such as water, electricity, gas, telephony, etc. In such a model, users access services based on their requirements without regard to where the services are hosted. Several computing paradigms have promised to deliver this utility-computing vision. Computing has emerged as one of the buzzwords in the IT industry and turned the vision of “computing utilities” into a reality. Several IT vendors have started offering computation, storage, and application hosting services, and provide coverage in several continents, supporting Service-Level Agreements (SLA) backed performance and uptime promises for their services. It leads to generates huge numbers of structure and unstructured data. Therefore, Enterprise and Big-Data applications need tools and platforms for their rapid construction and deployment on Clouds on-demand meeting user QoS requirements at lower price. This also helps in automation of the system in industry through Science and Technology and Engineering like; Instrumentation, IT, Mechatronic, Telecommunication, Electrical, among few others. However, by and large, companies fail to systematically collect, store, analyze and use such data to improve process efficiency or meet other goals. So, these data sets need to be analyzed using Machine learning concept that has experienced a boost in popularity among both academia and industry. This conference aims at providing an opportunity and platform to present and discuss recent advances in the field of IoT, Machine learning and Big data independently and also as a confluence of ideas.
